This was a big week for anyone using custom domains on ClodHost, plus some nice quality-of-life improvements to the chat experience.
Domain Setup Checklist
Custom domains now have a proper step-by-step checklist that walks you through the entire setup process — DNS configuration, Cloudflare nameservers, SSL, the works. Instead of wondering "did it work?" and refreshing the page, you can see exactly where things stand at each step.
The checklist dynamically detects your Cloudflare nameservers, so the instructions are specific to your domain rather than generic. No more hunting through Cloudflare's dashboard to figure out which nameservers to use.
Recheck Buttons
Each step in the domain checklist now has a recheck button. Updated your DNS records? Hit recheck and get instant feedback on whether the changes have propagated. This replaces the old "make a change and hope for the best" workflow with something that actually tells you what's going on.
There's also a new domain status checker that runs automatically on pending domains, so even if you walk away, we'll keep an eye on things for you.
Chat Improvements
We made several improvements to the chat interface:
- Dismissable hints — those helpful tips in the chat can now be dismissed once you've seen them, and they stay dismissed.
- Better output handling — Claude's responses render more reliably, especially during longer conversations.
- Smoother restarts — restarting a chat session is snappier and more predictable.
Updated Custom Domains Tutorial
The custom domains tutorial got a major rewrite to match the new checklist-based flow. It's shorter, clearer, and actually matches what you see on screen now.
